Now that NBA is past their All-Star break, teams are getting ready for the stretch run to the Playoffs. With a rough average of 30 games remaining on each team’s schedule, it’s time for the contenders and pretenders to separate themselves from each other.
Will the San Antonio Spurs mount a successful defense of their World Championship or will they be toppled by any number of teams from the Eastern or Western conferences. As the summer months get closer, NBA Playoff tickets will become harder and harder to get, so it’s wise to prepare. There’s not point in missing out on your team making a deep playoff run toward the NBA Finals.
In the Western Conference, the Los Angles Lakers are finally experiencing a post-Shaq resurgence, powered by Kobe Bryant and his now-respectable supporting staff. Can Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol help get MVP candidate Bryant back to the NBA Finals? Well, they’ll have to go through the likes of Dallas, Phoenix, New Orleans, Denver, Golden State, and Portland before anything’s decided.
In the Eastern Conference, Detroit looks really strong, as does Cleveland, Boston, and Orlando. While the East isn’t as strong as the West, its upper-echelon teams are quite capable of standing toe-to-toe with any team from the West, including the mighty Spurs.
With all these teams having a legitimate shot at winning the NBA’s World Title, the upcoming playoffs are shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory. With anticipation building, securing NBA Finals tickets will not be an easy proposition. Fortunately, ESPN and TNT will be able to fill any live playoff game voids you may be experiencing.
Who ya got? Will the Spurs repeat or will they be denied by any of the teams quickly gaining on them? Once these teams get through positioning themselves, it will be a lot easier to answer, but for the time being, I’m sticking with Tim Duncan and company.
